Riding for the disabled

Buckingham RDA was started in 1977 with two riders who rode on Saturday mornings at stables near Stowe, Buckingham. The group has changed and expanded over the years resulting in Buckingham and Greenacres RDA Group formed in July 2003. The ages of the riders vary between 4 and 22. We now provide several weekly riding lessons for pupils from schools in Milton Keynes, as well as Saturday sessions for individual riders from the local area. We operate from Greenacres Livery Yard, Puxley near Stony Stratford.

Lessons are taken by an RDA approved instructor and each rider has up to 3 helpers according to their level of competence. All riders must have medical permission to ride, we provide the riders with safety helmets, boots and sweatshirts.

Through the commitment of volunteers, RDA enables people with disabilities to ride or carriage drive to benefit their health and wellbeing and to achieve their goals.
